November 21, 2011: RAHMLEE LENDS HIS TALENTS TO THE VERY LIVE BAND!

The Very Live Band is essentially a Collective dedicated to preserving and spreading the spirit of Jazz music, truly one of our greatest American cultural treasures. TVLB's members are all musicians with decades of professional experience performing live and recording with acts in music styles ranging from Jazz to Rock to Pop to R&B, from George Benson, Elvin Jones, Sonny Stitt and Red Holloway to Robert Palmer, Phil Collins and Stevie Wonder, from Roberta Flack, Ashford & Simpson and Etta James to Earth, Wind & Fire, Brothers Johnson and Billy Preston. Most importantly, all of our members have been playing Jazz their entire adult lives and love nothing better than recording and performing all forms of Jazz, but especially Jazz derived from the traditional or swing-based (bebop) Jazz music of the 50's and 60's. September 21, 2010: RAHMLEE LENDS HIS TALENTS TO A NEW PROJECT...

Rahmlee lends his talents to a new project entitled, Tom Glide And The Luv All Stars: In The Name Of Luv. Rahmlee performed, sang and wrote all of the horn arrangements for this release. "In The Name Of Luv" bridges the gap between new school and old school with a contemporary mix of percolating dance tracks and spicy slow jams. With credits ranging from Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and George Duke to Earth, Wind & Fire, Phil Collins and the Rolling Stones, the Luv All Stars collective includes trumpeter Rahmlee Michael Davis, keyboardist Larry Dunn (of EWF fame), bassist Alex Al, drummer James Gadson, vocalist Tim Owens, bassist Byron Miller, guitarist Greg Moore and percussionist Rafael Padilla. The result is an 11-track set jam-packed with choice cuts, propelled by soaring horns, lush strings and expressive vocals. Glide and crew get the revival started with energetic opener "Get It Off." Other uptempo highlights include "Can U Feel It" and "What's Your Fantasy"-reminiscent of the Earth, Wind & Fire classic "Boogie Wonderland." Slowing things down, the All Stars keep it just as hot on the torchy "I'm Crazy," featuring the sweet, emotional tenor of singer Orlando Johnson. "In The Name Of Luv" is currently available at the iTunes store.
